J\u00fcrgen Behm, Alberto Varzi, Stefano Passerini<\/p>\n<h4>Abstract:<\/h4>\n<p>Abstract In this work, the synthesis of \u03b1\u2010MnS\/MnO\/S\u2010doped C micro\u2010rod composites via a simple sulfidation process is demonstrated, starting from a Mn\u2010based metal\u2010organic framework. The resulting heterostructured \u03b1\u2010MnS\/MnO nanoparticles (8\u00b12 nm) are uniformly embedded into the S\u2010doped carbonaceous porous framework with hierarchical micro\u2010\/meso\u2010porosity. The combination of structural and compositional characteristics results in the promising electrochemical performance of the as\u2010obtained composites as anode materials for lithium\u2010ion batteries, coupled with high reversible capacity (940 mAh g \u22121 at 0.1 A g \u22121 ), excellent rate capability as well as long cycling lifespan at high rate of 2.0 A g \u22121 for 2000 cycles with the eventual capacity of \u223c300 mAh g \u22121 .
